Rather than collect suntans, lifeguards shiver in heavy woolens and goose down in snow-capped shacks during the winter at Glenwood Springs' 90-degree outdoor hot springs pool. If a bather should get into trouble, the lifeguards must leap fully clothed to the rescue -- there's no time to shuck their duds.

wow - thats interesting. Shame they just can't have a heater in their little shack so they can be in their bathing suits all ready :)
If you look closely, you'll see an electric appurtenance on the bottom of the shack. Presumably a little electric heater does help keep their legs warm, but the shacks are open on the pool side to help the lifeguards watch the water.
