Boxcar in the woods

This may look like a freight car rusting on a forgotten siding, and there are plenty of those in Upper Michigan -- but this one was moving, part of the E&LS "Ontonagon Job" that delivers empty cars to a paper mill and picks up loaded ones. I increased the saturation of both green and orange in Photoshop Elements to give the picture more pop.

Maybe . . . slide back the door and get a whiff of stiff! Actually this was a train emerging from the paper mill about a mile west. I thought the boxcar a magnificent derelict.

The law of unintended consequences may strike.... If you keep being a one man travel bureau for the western part of the UP, I may have to give up my regular travels to the east, and sample the western area. Between your books, posting on the other blog, and the photos, you make it a very attractive place to vist.
