Hydrangea "Peppermint Twist"

HYDRANGEA "PEPPERMINT TWIST," EVANSTON, ILLINOIS, DECEMBER 25, 2012

Pentax K-01
Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro
1/6 sec. f11 with LED ring light
ISO 100

One of Debby's Christmas gifts was a natural subject for the kit of K-01 camera, Tamron lens, LED ring light and lightweight tripod I've put together for macrophotography. This variety of hydrangea indeed looks as pepperminty as its name. Each bloom is about the size of a quarter.

Hi Henry. Lovely. I met you years ago when we interviewed you for the SHHH Journal about your book WHATS THAT PIG OUTDOORS. We are now Hearing Loss Magazine (www.hearingloss.org). But the reason I'm writing is our photographer and designer for the magazine has a hearing and also shoots botanical macro photography. I've told her to check out your photos and I thought you might enjoy hers too. You can find some of Cindy Dyer's shots at www.gardenmuseshow.com. Oh and I just handed my husband a copy if your book Zephyr -- he's a railman who is taking a train trip from Topeka to Albuquerque.
It's delightful to discover your photographs. Best to you, Barbara Kelley.
