Now the ubiquitous mallard may be the most boring bird to photograph (next to Canada geese), but at least it has the virtue of ubiquity. That means one might go out to photograph interesting birds but find nothing . . . except mallards. One need not go home empty-handed, need one? The low sun made the feather detail and water droplets stand out.
