Searching for overlooked shots from last year's photo archive yielded a brooding photograph that brought to mind two lines from one of the Western world's great early works of literature: "And the earth was without form, and void; darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters./ And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."
